Web Page Pixel Size

1024 by 768? or 800 by 600 perhaps? These are some of the things a web designer think of when coming up with a concept for a new web page design. While some may readily say that 1024 by 768 is the best option, there is still some 15% of the web population which uses lower resolutions, ie 800 by 600.

Pixels

stand for the picture element. A pixel corresponds to a single point in a graphics element. A photo has more than a thousand pixels in it. The pixels are very close together which is why they appear seamlessly connected. The graphics element in a web page is also one of the things which a majority of the web surfers look for.

The average web page pixel size now is 1024 by 768. Which means there are 1,024 pixels going from left to right while 768 pixels from top to bottom. But it does not mean that other web page pixel size are totally disregarded as smaller web page sizes, such 640 by 480 (VGA) still exist.

Web page pixel sizes are really heavily dependent on the monitor of the user. A 15 inch monitor can accommodate a 1024 by 768 pixel size web page.
